Topical Questions are an essential tool for any student looking to succeed in their exams. These questions are similar to regular past paper questions, but instead of covering all topics, they focus on a specific topic or theme. This allows students to test their knowledge in a more targeted way and identify any areas they may need to improve on. By practicing with Topical Past Papers, students have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of a subject and build their confidence ahead of the exam.

AS Maths Statistics & Mechanics notes summary complete set

11 Resources
I am currently a 3rd year medic in the UK and this resource helped me achieve an A in my AS Maths. This is a complete set of handwritten revision notes for Edexcel AS Maths and the content can be made easily applicable to other specifications. Includes chapters 1-11. These are invaluable for anybody doing this course and will save you hours of sorting through notes both online & the textbook, as well as analysing the specification and having to present it all in an effective manner. Unlike other revision materials this resource is full and concise, and makes revision simple and easy without leaving any gaps in your knowledge. It summarises the key points to learn and puts the knowledge into practice with worked examples. The examples start off at a basic level and excel to A* level. The more challenging and higher grade questions are marked with a * to help learners know what level they have worked to.

Hypothesis Test for a Population Mean - Analogy to a Criminal Trial

(2)
This is a student workbook that can supplement lessons on hypothesis tests for a population mean. I teach the stages of hypothesis testing using analogies to a criminal trial. My students like this comparison; they are more engaged and it helps them to see the relevance of the different stages. Once students are confident with the terminology, we create our own courtroom in the classroom and role-play the stages of hypothesis testing with students acting as the jury, prosecution, judge and defence. Contents of the workbook 1. A summary of the 5 stages of hypothesis testing 2. A detailed analogy to a criminal trial 3. One worked example 4. Space for students to complete their own examples. 5. Worksheets on: a. the null and alternative hypothesis b. type I and type II errors c. checking assumptions d. sampling distributions e. the normal distribution f. the t-distribution g. interpreting p-values Answers for worksheets provided in separate document. The preview file shows a selection of pages from the workbook.
