These worksheets are an excellent way to start learners thinking about customer service and the role it plays in the business.
They contain definitions and brainstorming activities as well as written work activities that capture personal experience with thought provoking questions. They lead up to providing good examples to produce roleplays with. Additionally there is a self analysis survey for learners to complete. It is titled 'Customer Service Self analysis for your and your centre' (Daycare)
I have used these resources when teaching early childhood educators, retail staff and other service industries.

This is unit 201, which I teach after Christmas in year 10. This contains everything you need for the term and make it fun for the students. My classes have a kit list that they purchase at the beginning of the course (I give them in Year 9) and this is when they really get to use all their makeup on each other and get the confidence to work in pairs and create some ERA work. It may not be worthy of the front cover of Vogue, but they love the practical lessons and at least they have practised all the looks come the exam day.
This pack contains a whole terms worth of lessons on Powerpoint to prep for the exam, SOW/lesson plans and the end of unit 201 test paper with answers and revision packs. Everything you need for delivery.
This would be taught after Xmas as I would usually start with unit 202.
Most lessons are a mixture, some you will teach theory on the era in the first half an hour and then afterwards you will demo the era look. The next lesson they will have a full hour to practise that look on their partner. Make sure you get after photos to display on the PPT for next year as examples and to display in the classroom or wall.
Adapt to suit you and your classes.
I have also included a bundle where you can get all three units together to run the whole course smoothly.
This is unit 203 and everything you need to take you through the whole of year 11 as I have also thrown in the revision lessons for their exams and the 12 mark questions, all with answers. I would start this unit in September year 11 and it includes nails. There is also a bundle I created, which incudes all three units to run the whole course smoothly on TES.
This will cover the whole unit of 1hr lessons, SOW and and extra such as health and safety and CV building, exam 203 revision packs with answers. All practical skills are covering nails and nail art of the eras to gain confidence for the exams.
I will be gradually uploading them on You Tube as well under Hairy Lorna to help with guidance of how to teach this. Teach this unit first as it is the science based unit and also I have provided revision notes/test on unit 203 as well on TES.
This will be taught 5 lessons every fortnight. You can also use the ITC rooms in between if needed.
Most lessons are based on 30 mins teaching and 30 mins practical, some lessons may need 1hr practical and 1hr theory depending on whats being taught.
I also teach nail art in this era, the students have 1 hour to paint two nails on their nail wheel. A display of ideas is shown to help them.
You will have a gap in teaching from January to Easter as this is when they complete their GCSE synoptic assessment, but you have revision work included for revision straight after Easter up until the night before the exam.
Scheme of work/lesson plans included.
Adapt to suit your lesson and students.
For Level 3 hairdressers with experience of basic cutting. Introduction to creative cutting techniques which include invisible and textured layers. A practical based power point with learning objectives.
A quiz created to recap the cross section of the hair and skin with the functions of the appendages. This power point also include the hair growth cycle.
I have produced these simple plenary comment boards that can be used within any subject, each board has a speech bubble and a question the student answers about their learning/understanding within the lesson, they write their answers down and then share it with the class.
I have laminated a set for my students so they can be used again. I have found them successful in Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy & Health & Social Classes with low level learners. However, the questions can be adapted to meet the requirements with higher level learners.
Motivational Poster - A3, to encouage students in BTEC who say “I can’t do exams” !!
And a PowerPoint to discuss positive attitudes relating to a better success rate…
