This fun and original assembly aids children in understanding the value of being creative in all of their endeavours, through: Understanding what creativity is, and recognising why it is such an important skill; Understanding that creativity is a trait within everyone (including themselves) that should be encouraged and harnessed; Observing some amazing examples of what creativity can result in; Learning strategies to demonstrate creativity in their own lives. This assembly is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. The session also includes a fun role-play task to demonstrate how everyone can be creative and the internet link to a beautiful, thought-provoking video demonstrating the power of creativity. There are also various discussion prompts to enable children to understand how they can be creative in different areas of their own lives. This CPD session offers an engaging and original approach to improving behaviour management practices. Grounded in educational research, this CPD session is interactive, well-structured, and has been successfully tried and tested. The aim of the CPD session is to develop the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed in order to utilise behaviour management even more effectively in lessons, and it achieves this by embarking upon the following learning journey: 1. NPQSL Summative Assessment Task and Case Study – Cohort 2 This resource is my full assignment. I hope it is useful to those starting or finishing their NPQSL course. This full NPQSL example / exemplar is ideal for anyone who is doing their NPQSL. I’ve uploaded it in the hope it is useful for anyone doing the NPQSL as I know when we were doing it we were disappointed with the lack of examples to look at. This is my final write up for the new NPQSL scoring 14/15 (passmark 10). This is the new and most current NPQSL assessment format - grade received in December 2023 - I was ‘cohort 2’.

‘Live marking and feedback’ is the idea of marking or giving feedback on students’ work ‘in the moment’ - which cognitive science research tells us is incredibly effective in moving learning forward and addressing misconceptions before they become embedded. This presentation takes staff through the rationale behind it, the practicalities in its implementation, and the different ways it can be done. We have introduced it and in addition to helping our students make greater learning gains, it has reduced staff workload dramatically. This policy is for forward thinking schools who are looking to introduce evidence-informed practices into their school environment, benefiting students and staff alike. This was something that was really well received when it was presented and live marking and feedback continues to go form strength to strength as more practitioners begin to see its value when done well. This tool allows anyone - teacher, phase leader, SLT - to track the termly progress of pupils in different classes. There are 3 data drops: Autumn, Spring and Summer. On each tab, it asks the class teacher for: Summary of interventions: What worked and what didn’t? Which children, despite specific intervention being in place, do not appear to be making significant progress? **Identify those children highlighted during the Appraisal process requiring accelerated progress (KS1 data) to be made and reflect upon the progress they have made since September. ** **How are your Pupil Premium children and children with SEN performing? ** Percentages estimated at the end of the year I have put in formulas so percentages are worked out automatically. Obviously, this form can be edited to suit your school.

I found writing and setting out the NPQSL assignment very tricky, particularly sticking to the word limit! This resource is my full ‘Figure 4’ assignment, with all appendices, including sponsor comments, feedback from EMLC assessor and confirmation letter of passing. I hope it is useful to those starting or finishing their NPQSL course. I loved it, and loved completing my assignment. However, I quite often felt lost during the process of writing everything up, as I had no example provided to me. These comprehensive checklists have been created to aid school leaders when performing learning walks with a particular focus e.g. questioning, differentiation, etc. Clearly structured and organised, they present a central idea surrounded by a breakdown of a number of its key components. For the user, this layout provides a simple reference list of each of the desirable skills, categorised appropriately. The checklists also provide an alternative to regular feedback methods, which often focus too heavily on the standard or ‘judgement’, as opposed to being a developmental tool. Alternatively, these are really handy for teachers looking to develop their practice in the key teaching areas listed below. For use alongside lesson observations and learning walks, this succinct performance grid enables observers to gauge and categorise teaching and learning sessions using OFSTED guidance for effective teaching. The first page of the document provides descriptors of 'outstanding', 'good', 'requires improvement' and 'inadequate' teaching within appropriately considered focus areas, for example: Questioning, Planning, Use of Additional Adults, etc. Schools that already employ this tool often opt to highlight the descriptors on this page as they observe, thus creating a bigger picture of the strengths and areas for improvement in the teaching and learning observed. Schools who still grade individual lessons have noted that this is a helpful aid in arriving at an overall judgement. The second page allows observers to further pinpoint and describe the 'www' (what went well) and 'ebi' (even better if) aspects of the lesson, in order to make feedback to teachers more clear.
