Bubble Writing - Handwriting Scaffold UKS2

(10)
Bubble writing - cursive handwriting scaffold Like many primary school teachers I have tried a variety of handwriting schemes with varying degrees of success. Having thought through many common problems with handwriting I have developed a simple scaffold that places a bubble either side of the line to support letter formation. This simple scaffold provides a guide to consistently form cursive letters and ensure each letter is uniform in both height and width. Children are able to leave equal spaces between words and see clearly whether or not there is enough space at the end of each line for the next word they intend to write. There has been a huge impact within my class in a very short space of time and I hope you will see similar benefits within your own setting. Included is a PowerPoint presentation including words from the Year 5/6 spelling list that can be printed as a handwriting pack for children to work through. Blank slides enable you to add words to suit your needs and finally 2 different sized PDF scaffolds that children can use to write on (If photocopied the bubbles will disappear to leave the writing that has been completed.)

GCSE MUSIC – KEY MUSICAL ELEMENTS This 36-page PPT is a great way to kick off the GCSE course, providing an accessible introduction to (or refresher of!) key musical elements: Pulse Metre (including regular and irregular) Rhythm (including syncopation, off-beat rhythms, dotted rhythms and triplets) Chords (including triads and inversions) Melody-writing Basic arranging for ensemble It is expected that most students will have encountered many of these at Key Stage 3, and so whilst this PPT can act as an introduction with clear explanations, it can also act as a useful refresher, with the exercises very much aimed at Key Stage 4. Students will need access to keyboard or guitars, and notation software or manuscript paper. Please have a look at my other GCSE Music resources. Thank you!

The News Quiz September 6th - 13th 2024 Form Tutor Time Current Affairs

So here we are in the second week of the 2024-2025 school year and so much has happened over Summer! 2024 continues with ever more testing, increasingly expensive, unpredictable, record-breaking and emotional times we’ve seen recently with a variety of stories from around the world! What a week once again - England play ROI, £460 raise, Playstation announce new release and eye-watering price, open audition for epic TV series, strange looking plane lands, James Earl Jones sadly passes, pensioners fury, Beetlejuice returns, Australia social media ban, unusual football injury, another England win and May The Force Be With Us All!!! What exactly happened? Well, there’s only one way to find out - in the NEEEEEEWWWWSSS QUUUUUUUIIIIIZZZ! :) New quiz uploaded each week of the term, ALL YEAR LONG! Nearly fifteen years now and still going strong :) Many thanks to everyone who downloads this, it is very much appreciated and I’m glad it is useful for your form groups! 13 topical questions of the past week’s news, across the UK and the world. Designed to be used as a 10-20 minute activity in formtime - you could make it a little longer by talking about and discussing some of the questions. ANY MIS-SPELLINGS/MISSING CAPITALS ETC. IN THE PREVIEW ARE INTENTIONAL AND LINK TO THE LITERACY QUESTIONS IN THE REST OF THE QUIZ! Powerpoint so can be used on a standard whiteboard. Includes 2 literacy and 1 numeracy questions based on the other questions. Works well as a form group activity in registration time - I give sweets to the winning team (we’re not supposed to give sweets out, so it’s a nice ‘naughty’ reward and makes (some of) them watch and check their apps about the news in the week. :)
