If you’re studying ancient Greece, this 3D paper model will bring your topic to life. This is a hands-on project ideal for year 3 and above, using materials that are easily available. You can differentiate with the craft by using the smaller, easier version or the larger, more challenging version. The smaller size is 3.5in x 3in and the larger size is about 4in x 7in. The smaller size has three pieces to join, and you can simplify this further by leaving out the steps. The larger version has five pieces to join, so is more challenging and great for older children. Ideas for use: Students could colour it first, or make it as it is. You could also get students to add a modern twist or any other details to make it unique. Use as part of an ancient Greece study Use when learning about famous buildings around the world Use it as a hands-on activity for early finishers, golden time, GATE, or similar You will need: paper glue sticks white glue double-sided tape (optional) scissors colouring pencils (optional) What’s included? 2 pages of outlines for the smaller version (with or without steps) 4 pages of outlines for the larger size PDF slideshow of instructions to show on a screen Student handout of instructions U.K and U.S versions 18 pages in total Please note this model is not to scale and is an artistic representation, not a realistic representation. 3D crafts can be challenging so please consider if your students have the fine motor skills needed before purchasing. I encourage students to help each other with the tricky bits. I hope your students enjoy making a model of the Parthenon.
