6 weeks of planning and resources for an “All About Me” topic, suitable for a Reception class. Based on the 2021 EYFS Development Matters document.
The topic is broken up in to 6 themes:
Week 1 - What Makes Me Special?
Week 2 - My Body
Week 3 - My Senses
Week 4 - My Feelings
Week 5 - Growing and Changing
Week 6 - My Home and Local Area
Each week has detailed planning for adult led sessions for the 7 areas of learning. There are 48 session plans altogether.
Each week also has ideas for enhancing the continuous provision across 10 areas of the learning environment, with over 200 ideas in total.
Where needed, resources to support these activities are included in the pack.
There are also 6 weekly newsletters included. These can be used to let parents/carers know what their child is learning and to suggest ideas that they may want to try at home.
The planning documents and newsletters are Word documents and can be edited. The supporting resources are PDF files and cannot be edited.
An editable script for a space-themed assembly for younger pupils.
Features two songs for children to sing and 30 separate speaking parts (though these are easily combined should you have children who do not wish to speak).
The basic premise of the assembly is that two children in the class want to go on holiday to space and so listen to some facts about the eight planets to help make their decision. They don’t want to stay on planet Earth because it’s too messy!
In the end they realise that the other planets would not be great holiday destinations because they’re too hot/too cold/too rocky/too smelly! They choose to stay on planet Earth but realise that they have to help to look after it to keep it a nice place to live.
We had great success with this assembly in Reception last year - the children (and parents) loved it - and it’s easily edited to make it work for other classes.
Blanks level questioning 1-4 for each area of provision with prompts and questions for the adult.
SAND, WATER, DOUGH, CREATIVE, CONSTRUCTION/SMALL WORLD, READING, MUSIC/PHONICS, SNACK
Autumn term PE for Reception and EYFS.
This is a complete unit of work detailing how to help Reception children access and succeed in PE. The lesson plans clearly outline how learning progresses and break the session down into teacher input and then pupil practice sections.
The resource also explains how the lessons are linked to the National Curriculum for PE, learning outcomes, key language to use and discuss with the children, equipment required, cross-curricular links and AfL opportunities.
We know that PE is a subject many teachers struggle with, hopefully these resources will help ease that struggle!
Enjoy teaching PE with our easy to use lesson plans.
Here is a basic year plan created for formal music lessons throughout EYFS building skills which can be applied to creative continuous provision activities. Many of the activities were from the NEELB suggested activities resource which I have built into a bigger plan. Hope it is useful. Would appreciate feedback.
