This is such a cool card … when opened it EXPLODES into a really fun, interesting Father’s Day Card. Watch the HOW TO VIDEO and craft along with me - link provided in file This is a great craft for students to complete for Father’s Day! They create their own Father’s Day Exploding Card. Send students the video link if you are doing distance learning. This card can be made from regular paper. But you must use legal sized paper which is 8 1/2 x 14". Includes step-by-step instructions, graphics and templates needed to create this Exploding Father’s Day Card. All you have to do is photocopy. Requires: Paper, coloring pencils and scissors. Dads will cherish this Exploding card for years because they have never seen anything like it before! Father’s Day Writing Lesson Emotive Language This download is a Father’s Day writing lesson to teach Key Stage 2 pupils how to improve their use of emotive language. Pupils can choose to write the emotive letter to their father (for Father’s Day) or a special person in their lives. Although their is a mention to Father’s Day at the beginning, the lesson is designed to be inclusive of all family types. Pupils learn to elicit emotion through: Using the power of three Using superlative adjectives Using abstract nouns Using examples to illustrate points Pupils are tasked with writing the letter to a special person in their lives (which could be their father) to tell them why they are special to them. There are three differentiated challenges to allow pupils to stretch themselves. The lesson guides pupils through the planning and writing process, with teacher examples and tasks given along the way.
