Calming Strategies – Poster Set in three sizes 109 pages For Early Years and Primary Grades This Calming Strategies – Poster Set contains 30 posters in color and 30 black/white and in three sizes. The black and white version you can copy onto coloured card for a third printing option. Students can colour the black and white option and the smaller versions could be attached to a ring. As the teacher decide which cards to use – I would suggest that you limit to five initially and see how they go and then if you need to introduce others on a needs basis. Literature Circles are my favorite way to work with reading groups that have independent skills and that need to be extended. This pack encourages holding hearty discussions about texts. Through Literature Circles you will see your students devise questions, share roles and challenge each other. When starting Literature Circles introduce a role at a time for a favorite picture story book and discuss the roles and how they might look. When all roles have been covered give students the opportunity to go back and check each role as needed. Then group your grade so that they have access to a text to share. Timetable each group who can manage Literature Circles and give them a timetable so that they know when they are on. Details are in the pack as to how to do this. Plants, seeds and stuff is a Science based Literature unit. Discover how plants grow in a cycle by moving through these tasks. Study vocabulary to strengthen your grade’s knowledge about plants. This is a print and go pack. Read ‘The Tiny Seed’ Eric Carle to tune your grade into plants and what happens to seeds. Complete a KWHL to see what your students know about plants before you start. A Word Wall poster set allows you to list words you will need as you proceed through the unit. Boggle – lets the students explore words within words – 4 suggestions in color and black and white.
