Introduction to the concept of rational vs irrational values.
Also includes an explanation of how to identify if a decimal is repeating(recurring) or terminating.
Then the presentation has practice questions requiring students to convert fractions to decimals and then consider if their answers are terminating or repeating decimals.
Also includes some questions converting decimals to fractions by using a knowledge of place value (terminating).
Final plenary question considers converting a recurring decimal to a fraction.
Depending on the class this could lead into a full lesson on converting recurring decimals into fractions.
Number representations showing 1-10 in formation numerals, fingers, dominoes, ten frames, dice and playing cards.
Includes a My Number Book cover sheet for book making.
This worksheet allows students to practise numbers 1-31 in French. There is a word snake to focus on individual spellings as well as sequences of numbers and calculations to emphasise cross curricular links with maths. There is also an answer sheet which can be printed off so students can self-assess.

This is an introductory lesson to integers less than zero, which leads on to rudimentary calculations and subtracting negative numbers. This often spreads over two lessons, I find, after a discussion on whether negative numbers actually exist and some number line activity in the classroom, showing students that subtracting negative numbers is akin to facing 'the negative direction&', but then having to walk backwards.
A negative numbers worksheet covering adding, subtraction, multiplying, dividing and worded problems.
The worded problems are differentiated, I print out either the Level 1, 2 or 3 questions depending on the class. They are roughly the same questions, but with different numbers in.
