These are differentiated spelling lists for a junior or primary school, and there is a file here which explains exactly how it could work in your school. It means each child has exactly the right spelling list for them regardless of age. This was a very popular resource with over 100 ratings and 5 stars. Lots of schools have adopted it and I’ve had very positive feedback from teachers, but took me all summer to make and so I thought I’d start to charge for it. It encourages independence as the children test each other at the end of the week. There are enough spelling lists on one A4 sheet to last a term. The lists start with cvc words and phonic sounds, progressing to very challenging words. They also contain all the High Frequency Words. There are free assessment sheets in another resource to work out which sheet each child starts at. This is a four-sided spelling worksheet for the ‘v’ sound spelled ‘VE’ as in ‘GIVE’, as required in the Key Stage 1, Year 1 National Curriculum for English. The worksheet contains 17 activities of increasing difficulty. This also allows you to target particular skills for individual students and provide differentiated learning opportunities. This bundle allows pupils to practise their handwriting and spellings concurrently. The spellings have been sourced from the National Curriculum Statutory Spellings List for Years 3&4. There are 3 documents provided in this bundle. The 1st document provides children with one of the Y3/4 statutory spellings which is written with ‘dots’ which sit on the guidelines. Children are to trace these letters which will help with their letter formation. The 2nd document removes the guide lines, but still provides the ‘dots’ for the children. The 3rd document removes the dots and provides the student with a series of guidelines. The upper line contains a Y3/4 spelling in a cursive style as a guide for the student. The lower line is where the student should try to replicate the above example. These are some literacy starters I use for my Year 3 class who are very poor readers and spellers. They need extra work on phonics, so every day I do one of these starters before my literacy lesson. Could easily be used up and down the school. I will add more slides as I go and update on here when I can. * Updated due to syllables mix up :) *
