These CVC Fix-It-Up Sentence worksheets are a structured set of 6 phonics-based sentence-editing activities designed to help early learners build strong foundations in reading, spelling, and writing. Each worksheet presents one clear task and 7 developmentally appropriate sentences that contain common errors such as missing capital letters, incorrect spacing, spelling mistakes, and missing punctuation. All sentences are carefully constructed using CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words with short vowels, making them accessible for beginning readers. Through repeated practice, students learn to identify and correct errors, rewrite sentences correctly, and develop an understanding of sentence conventions. The exercises reinforce phonemic awareness, phonics skills, handwriting, and editing habits while promoting confidence and independence in writing. These are some literacy starters I use for my Year 3 class who are very poor readers and spellers. They need extra work on phonics, so every day I do one of these starters before my literacy lesson. Could easily be used up and down the school. I will add more slides as I go and update on here when I can. * Updated due to syllables mix up :) *
