In this unit, pupils will read a classic Spring poem about a fast white bunny and they will consider how the sounds and language patterns come alive when the poem is read aloud, particularly reflecting on the use of verbs and similes. Children will work towards creating their version of the Easter poem and turning it into an effective performance. Card game on the theme of spring This card game is also known as Spot it. Instructions The file is prepared for two-sided printing. It is recommended to cut the cards and then to laminate them. It is a great way to help cards last. Gamerules The game uses a deck of 31 cards, each printed with six different symbols. Any two cards always share one, and only one, matching symbol. The object of the game is to be the first to announce the drawing in common between two given cards.

10 slides each with a differentiated task for a piece of creative writing. Each is spring or Easter themed so ideal for the spring term. Suitable for Year 6 or similar. Tasks vary in length and could be the starting point for further work so ideal for filling time, homework, cover lessons, end of term etc. Children could peer assess, share stories with groups or the class, use for drama etc as required. A selection of worksheets for practicing ‘spring’ vocabulary and colours in French. I have differentiated worksheets for differing abilities. There is a poem, which the children can decorate with the appropriate images. A follow-on worksheet misses out words for children to fill using the pictures to help them. There is also a word search to reinforce the vocabulary. As always there is a colour ‘teacher’ copy for those of you who are able to print in colour. Feedback is always welcome.
