The idea is Mr Barton's, but this is my probability contribution. Show for 30 seconds, they then get down what they can remember. Show a few times until they think they&'ve finished then check their against yours. Simples!

This is a PowerPoint with a set of 3 different types of memory challenges for group work. Each challenge can be adapted to other topics and languages. The ones on this PowerPoint are in French and contain the topics of "school" & "passé-composé". It would be very easy and quick to adapt by simply replacing the vocabulary and/or pictures. It is suitable for any year group and any level. Timers are embedded on the presentation. My students absolutely love doing these and the less able find them particularly useful.

Poster containing key revision facts about triangles, types, angles in, pythagoras and trigonometry, could be used as a resource for collective memory task. Can be adapted for your own pupils.

Pupils work in groups of 3/4. They take it in turns to come out and view the image for 10 seconds. They return to their group each time and try to reproduce the image. The emphasis should be on strategies used and looking for links on the diagram eg did you realise what the colours represented? How could this have helped you reproduce more of the image?

Show it for 20 seconds then they have to remember it exactly. I put the picture of me on there so they would concentrate on their reproduction rather than staring around the room, but feel free to change it to a picture of your choice!

An exciting consolidation (or introduction) task on nine circle theorems required for GCSE maths. Two possible answer sheets, differentiated by the amount of information given (of course - you could just give your students blank sheets to start).

This is three memory tasks on: Index Laws Pythagoras Squares and Cubes I print them on A3 and then they work in groups of 3/4 getting to take it in turns to reproduce the poster from memory. I normally have 30 seconds look and 1 minute draw per person. Can take between 20-40 minutes depending on the group. I always award prizes for the most accurate. I have used this with both KS3 and KS4 top/bottom sets and mixed ability it really works and the students love them.

Included in this resource is a Question 1 Essay writing prompt for HSC Extension History. For Question 1 students must respond to an unseen source and respond to the historiographical debate explored by the writer. Included in this handout; extract from a source looking at the 'Collective Memory' of historical writing, question and marking criteria.

A poster containing key images and quotes from the play. In small groups, pupils take it in turns to memorise the poster and the aim is to reproduce it as a group, as precisely as possible. Facilitates discussion of characters, themes and predictions of what the story may be about.
