Word Classes Bingo

(0)
This resource is designed to be used with KS3 and 4 students (though the nature of the activity means it can easily be adapted for younger and older students) to practise their knowledge of word classes. The file contains thirty bingo grids containing 9 clues (e.g a noun beginning with b) that students must allocate words by filling in the gaps as the teacher shouts them out. The design of this resource means that it can be used over and over again with the same classes without getting repetitive as new combinations of words can be used each time. This resource includes thirty different bingo grids (which can be reallocated and re-used) and a list of words (sorted into the four classes). Included in this file: editable Publisher versions of both grids and word list, and a ready-to-print PDF version. TOP TIP: the blank grids can be enlarged, printed onto card and laminated in order to create ‘whiteboard’ versions which can be used over and over again with dry-wipe marker pens.

YEAR 2 COMMON EXCEPTION WORDS BINGO GAME

The pack consists of twenty six bingo cards, each with nine words from the Year 2 list of Common Exception Words. The cards can be cut out, laminated and used repeatedly, with children crossing out / circling words as they are called out, using a whiteboard pen. Alternatively, counters / bits of card etc. might be used to cover the words, so lessening the need for laminating – perfect for ultra - busy teachers! How about trying different games? Full house? Full line – horizontal, vertical, diagonal? 3 words, 4 words, 5 words etc.? Use scoring systems as an extra incentive – e.g. one point for every word covered over 3 games; the child with the most points wins a small reward, even if they don’t actually manage ‘Bingo!’ itself. Included at the end is a full list of Year 2 Common Exception Words in alphabetical order against a tick list for five games, so teachers can keep a record of the words called in each game. When a child wins a game, perhaps they can read out all the words correctly, as an added challenge, or choose one or two of the words to put in a sentence for extra points. All the words appear on at least one card, with most words making several appearances.

This resource includes six 3x3 phonics bingo cards featuring decodable ure and er words, and a list of all words, designed to support Phase 3 phonics. Each card contains a unique arrangement of nine words that contain the digraphs ure (e.g., pure, cure, lure) and er (e.g., fern, runner, jumper). The cards can be used during whole-class carpet time, small group instruction, or as an independent literacy station. Teachers or LSAs can act as the “caller,” reading words aloud while children listen, decode, and mark matching words on their cards. This activity strengthens phoneme-grapheme correspondence, encourages listening skills, and promotes engagement with tricky digraphs in a playful setting. Ideal for revisiting sounds at the end of Phase 3 or during consolidation weeks. Includes: 6 unique bingo cards. Words such as sure, manure, helper, baker, perk. Clear, large print suitable for young readers. Flexible for whole class or guided group use. 'Phonics Game' - Initial Blend Bingo - bl, fl, cl, pl & sl

(0)
'Phonics Game' - Initial Blend Bingo - bl, cl, fl, sl & pl is a classic phonics game used in classrooms around the world to reinforce and practice initial blends. What You Need: - All game boards printed out and either laminated or in plastic sleeves - The game word lists printed and photocopied for future games - 25 plastic counters for each player. Possible Implementation: Initial Blend Bingo can be played as a small group of 6 or eight students or as a whole class. It is a great game for Literacy Centres and parent helpers. How to Play: 1. Students sit with their materials ready to go. 2. A game leader chooses a word at random from the word list and crosses it off. 3. Players search their board for that word. If the word is printed on their game board they cover the word with a counter, if not they wait for the nextword to be read. 4. The winner is the person who covers all the words first and calls out BINGO. NB - I like to play this game so the winner is the first person to get 5 counters in a row either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. I think it keeps the interest level high. Variations: - Pairs of students play one board. This opens up the way to co-operative learning. - Each student plays with 2 boards. Words included in Bingo - bl, fl, cl, pl & sl: black, blank, blast, blaze, bleed, blend, blue, bloom, blunt, blob flag, flake, flame, flash, flat, fleet, fly, flight, flip, flower place, plane, plain, planet, plant, play, please, plenty, plot, plow, pluck, plum slam, slang, slap, sleep, sleep, slip, slice, slow, slug, slump, sly, slippers claim, clam, clamp, clap. claw, clay, clever, click, clock, close, cloud, clown, club Included in this Download: 11 Game Boards & Game Rules Enjoy!!!
