White Rose Maths - Early Years - To 20 and Beyond! White Rose Maths - Early Years - Summer - Phase 1 - Weeks 1, 2, 3 Suitable for Early Years Please note: this planning is based off of the previous version of White Rose Maths. They have since updated their scheme, however a lot of the themes overlap. This detailed planning (5819 words) has links to the NEW EYFS 2021 Framework and includes lots of fun activities, all of which are practical and engaging! Most of the learning takes place through a play based approach. The planning has a new format that it makes it more practical for everyday use in an Early Years setting. The front page of the document highlights the development matters/ ELG statements that are being met. As the White Rose SOL for the summer term is more formal than the previous two terms, I have tried to ensure that this planning is still fun and engaging, but includes the use of more maths manipulatives and encourages children to record more of their findings. So this planning has a slightly different layout then the Autumn and Spring terms. The main planning includes 5 minute warm ups for each of the weeks, an input for each day of the week and an adult-focus activity for each day of the week too. There is also a suggested ‘digging deeper’ section. This planning does NOT include the resources, they are available to purchase here. You can still use the planning without the resources, but the resources will save you a lot of time. The WALTS covered are: Week 1 – Building Numbers beyond 10 Count forwards and backwards to 20. This resource contains an assessment tracker for Years 2-6. Teachers input the names of children in their class and then their result in the end of block assessments into the spreadsheet. The results in the spreadsheet will change colour to indicate, based on KS2 SATs threshold percentages, whether that child is working at Age Related Expectation or Greater Depth (approximately). The spreadsheet automatically calculates every child’s total score, their average score, and the average score for each block based on whole class data. This can be used to inform intervention groups, a teacher’s area for development or to help with data submission to SLT throughout the year. Keep in mind, this is NOT a question level analysis grid set for each block.

It’s a long time since we have given you a Brothers Grimm story. We had somehow overlooked this charming tale. The Snow White of the title is not related to the more famous Snow White who met the Seven Dwarfs. This Snow White is the sister of Rose Red. The two girls live in the forest and get on well with the animals who live there, including a big playful bear. They also meet a rather bad-tempered dwarf.

A lesson or two lessons worth of slides (depending how much time you spend discussing and exploring using models and manipulatives) that focuses on the objective from Year 4 Spring WRM for what a fraction is. Included are different representations and examples and non-examples to discuss as well as some of the questions from the WRM document.
