This is my collection of resources for Core Maths (AQA Level 3 Mathematical Studies). I’ve been teaching it since 2018 and have developed them as I’ve gone. I’m hoping they will be of use to new and experienced teachers of the course. I am teaching the option with 2A (statistics) so resources will be leaning toward those aspects. This power point explores frequency trees and how they work. I've created a number of exam-style questions and included plenty of opportunity for discussion. Detailed notes included for teachers in the comments section of the ppt to help with explanations.

Here's a cool twist on a worksheet. Students answer questions and then, based on the answer decide to shade a square or not. If correct, the QR code is readable. The content of the questions is not that exciting but I wanted others to be able to see the idea and adapt it for their own uses.

This cute power point introduces factor bugs as a fun way of getting pupils to find factors of numbers. The bugs have legs which are usually in pairs. There’s also the Prime Minister bug.

A good, light-hearted opportunity to allow students to practise their finding percentages of a quantity skills. Works as a starter or plenary. You might want to check the content for your students (as one of the questions involves being kissed by supermodels).

For all teachers of maths, this is a guide in booklet form about how you can view Creativity in Maths. What does it mean to be creative and how can you provide opportunities for creativity? There are five puzzles/tasks included in a ready to print format.

The is a Christmas themed adaptation of Paul Collin's Pirate game (adapted with permission). A great end of term activity that still contains some maths. The multiple copies of documents are the same but are just for people with older versions of word.

This is intended to be printed out (possibly A3 size) and put on students' tables so that they can refer to them when they're working through surds work. The publisher file is in case you'd like to edit it yourself.

A Level statistics. A fun trail to test students' understanding of some S1 topics. They will need a QR reader to be able to use this resource but they are all text QR codes (ie no internet connection needed). [Based on AQA S1]

A short but useful revision sheet just to recap the main points of Pythagoras Theorem and Trigonometry. Clear explanations with diagrams. Ideal for KS3 and KS4 students. Comments welcome!

A simple quiz with all the formulae that students are expected to remember at Foundation level GCSE. Covers all 16 formulae with one formula per slide and they automatically advance after 10 seconds. 3 different versions with the same questions in a different order. I intend to use these multiple times so that they start to stick!

This power point provides you with a guide as to how we know v2 is irrational. Works well for KS4 and KS5 students as I find that many of them are not content with just being told that surds are non-recurring, non-terminating. You will need to present this to students - they're unlikely to follow it by themselves.
