This is not a complete unit. This is because due to curriculum time not being sufficient, students sit a series of mock papers after this part. I then teach the final section (budgeting/spending etc) through the mock exam feedback. In addition, the major political parties are taught in the introduction to the GCSE course
Lesson included:
- What is democracy? (Including countries that are dictatorships and religious)
- The Values underpinning democracy
- The role of the instituitions
- The relationship between the instituitions

- Elections (including all methods of voting).
AQA GCSE- Politics and Participation
It can be easily adapted to suit other exam boards, or used as part of a PSHE curriculum.
All lessons are planned suitable for a non-specialist delivery, do not refer to textbooks and have plenty of exam practice embedded.
