Seven sections cover personal targets, time management, assessing progress, negotiating responsibilities, using resources, independent work and transferring skills. Students prioritise aims, overcome obstacles, practise interview skills, plan deadlines, assess achievements, organise information and prepare for new situations.

Lesson plans give aims, preparation, classroom approaches, issues to consider and extension suggestions. Choose the order that suits the group; the sections are not a sequence of increasing difficulty. Activities combine reflection, discussion, planning and presentations.

Designed for post-16 tutor time and personal education, primarily with advanced-level students, with adaptation for other study programmes.
