I have created this unit for my Y7 and 8 students to introduce the various different ‘areas’ of Binary that come up in GCSE level.

  1. Binary
  2. Signed Bit
  3. Two’s Complement
  4. Binary Addition (and overflow errors)
  5. Hexadecimal notation

I have included a student task booklet, which has questions and places to answer them, as well as links to relevant games online. I recently changed this, as I saw an opportunity to include some python coding challenges, so for many of them, I have a screen shot of code that will work - i.e converting a decimal number to Binary. I have links to code starting points (and the solutions) in the teacher file.

The teacher file has answers, as well as learning ‘notes’ and my outline of lessons. I have included links to the quizzes I have created, to online games for teaching/learning about Binary / Hex etc. I have links to starting points that I share with students to complete the code. I have included the links to the completed code for teachers,

I have included another file in here, just with all the links to games etc to make a little more organised.
