LESSON 1-4 IN UNIT: This lesson is part of a 10 lesson unit (13/14 lessons with assessment time and peer marking in addition). It focuses on:

-What is Media language?
-Contextual overview of ‘GQ’ and ‘Pride’
-Retained learning task on key Media Lang terms applied to both covers top third.
-Readership and circulation
-Cover resource annotations with all the key magazine terminology needed e…g masthead, skyline, kicker, course of the eye, flash button etc.
-Mode of address and anchorage text.
-Selection and Combination with application to unseen women’s magazine cover.
-Conventions of mens lifestyle magazines and lad mags.
-Theory checkpoint with differentiated help based on ‘Pride’ and an unseen ‘Cosmopolitan’ cover.
-Mastery and step bu step breakdown on what each part of the question is and how to attack it in the exam, I have also included a 15/15 exemplar response written by me on the same question fot you to go through with students on the following question:

-Structured peer marking of assessment and green response task.

IMPORTANT: All resources have been included and separate sheets/ printable power point slides. Videos are embedded with a link in the notes section as well as additional help and tips on how it was delivered to the class.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is only providing Media Studies at GCSEl, as a three-year Course. Moreover, some of the tasks in lesson and for H/W are dependent upon owning the EDUQAS GCSE Revision Guide.
