ICT IGCSE Edexcel Unit 3 – Operating Online: Health & Safety
This lesson is part of Unit 3 of the Edexcel IGCSE ICT course and focuses on health and safety considerations when operating online, including safe working practices, ergonomic setups, and potential hazards. It is one of 26 lessons in the scheme of work, which also includes three progress check and quiz lessons.

The series has been created with a strong focus on EAL learners and keyword acquisition/application, helping students to build a strong understanding of the technical vocabulary required for success in the ICT IGCSE.

Each lesson in the series contains:

1–8 keywords on easy-to-use cards that fit into the lesson activity and also serve as printable revision resources

A different active learning starter activity

A mini-plenary

A written or creative ICT task requiring correct keyword application

Stretch questioning for the main activities

Keyword literacy worksheets

This lesson can be delivered as part of the full Unit 3 scheme of work or as a standalone session on health and safety in ICT.

Wolsey Academy has had significant success with this SOW, particularly with EAL students, who have shown marked improvement in their understanding and use of ICT-related technical vocabulary.

All profits from this resource support charitable initiatives, including refugee assistance, youth sports, educational programmes, and environmental carbon capture, making our work carbon negative.
