2D Shape Colouring Fun EYFS and KS1

Make early maths engaging and hands-on with this fun 2D shape colouring activity pack designed for EYFS and KS1 learners.
The resource includes 10 worksheets, each featuring a collection of familiar 2D shapes such as triangles, rectangles, squares, stars, hearts and circles.
On each page, half of the shapes are already coloured (for example, hearts in red and triangles in blue), while the other half appear in black and white outlines.
Children carefully look, match and colour the shapes so that the blank shapes match the coloured examples, encouraging visual recognition and careful observation.
Each worksheet uses different colour combinations to keep children engaged, and the final page is fully black and white, allowing pupils to choose their own colours for each shape before finding and colouring the matching ones.

This activity supports 2D shape recognition, colour identification, counting, sorting and matching skills, while also developing fine motor control.

Children could also cut out shapes, draw around them or use colour counters for matching activities.
