The 4 operations planning I used with my year 3/4 class in Autumn 1. Great introduction to the year in maths and allowed children to recap and expand on what they had already learned in the previous year.

N.B Some people choose to add an extra 2 days to this planning. The first day is to have a full lesson on its own to show children column subtraction, as this can sometimes be a trick topic to cover (in this planning addition and subtraction are covered in 1 lesson). The second day you may wish to add is a word problem lesson, to cement the learning from this planning but also to get children to apply the skills they have learned in a different style. Thanks!
