This is a grade 11 chemistry final exam. It will takes students approximately 2 hours to complete. It is 10 pages long and contains 90 multiple choice questions. The 5 units tested are matter and bonding, balancing and reactions, quantities in chemical reactions, solutions and solubility and gases.

My name is Darrin Mathewson and I have a PhD in organic chemistry. I have been teaching physics and chemistry for over 15 years. All the Power Points, quizzes, tests, multiple choice questions, short answer questions and worksheets that I post are properly formatted and ready to print. They have been checked for mistakes and typos!

The topics covered include:
Atomic radius, ionization energy, electron affinity, electronegativity, ionic bonding, covalent bonding, metallic bonding, properties of compounds, drawing Lewis structures, determining polarity, solving for isotopic abundance, naming ionic compounds, covalent compounds, acids, multivalent metals and polyatomic compounds.

Balancing chemical equations, determining the type of reaction, predicting the products of complete combustion reactions, incomplete combustion reactions, single displacement reactions, double displacement reactions, synthesis reactions and decomposition reactions.

Calculating the mass percent, percent composition, empirical formula, molecular formula, and converting between moles, mass and particles. It also includes using stoichiometry to solve for the mass, molecules or moles of a product formed or a reactant used in a chemical reaction and solving for the limiting reactant, the amount of excess reactant and the percent yield.

Calculating concentrations, total ionic equation, net ionic equation, acids, bases, solubility theory, rate of dissolving, titrations, precipitates and solutions

Using Boyle’s law, Charles’s law, Gay-Lussac’s law, or combined gas law to solve for temperature, pressure or volume of a gas, the ideal gas law, Dalton’s laws, solving for the molar mass and density of a gas.
