Pupils choose the right Kp method from what a question gives, using a six-row decision table, then answer a 12-mark exam-style question. With answers.
Lesson 6 of an eight-lesson sequence on Kp, pulling lessons 1 to 5 together. A six-row table links what a question gives (amounts, mole fractions, partial pressures, Kp and all but one pressure, Kp and mole fractions, a change of conditions) to the first step to take.
A whole multi-part question is modelled with the method chosen before any number is written. Pupils then answer a 12-mark question with the headings removed, self-check by row, and get quiz-preparation practice to take away.
What’s included: a teacher PowerPoint with answers revealed on click and full speaker notes (timings, what to look for, what each wrong answer means); a pupil PowerPoint with the answers removed; a printable worksheet; a full answer document; and optional independent-study practice with answers. Everything is editable, set in Century Gothic, and every calculation is worked one step to a line.
Specification: AQA A Level Chemistry 7405, 3.1.10 Equilibrium constant Kp for homogeneous systems (A level only). Built for 55-minute lessons; adaptable to other boards that teach Kp.
