A Level lesson from starting moles to Kp: ICE tables, total moles, mole fractions, partial pressures, then Kp. Teacher and pupil slides, sheets, answers.
Lesson 3 of an eight-lesson sequence on Kp, and the core calculation of the topic. Cycle 1 builds the amounts at equilibrium with an ICE table (initial, change, equilibrium), including percentage dissociation. Cycle 2 carries those amounts through the full chain: the expression first, the total amount, each mole fraction, each partial pressure (checked against the total), then Kp to the right number of significant figures.
Includes faded worked examples, blank ICE-table frames on the slides for pupils to fill, a misconception probe on using moles as pressures, and an ‘If you finish’ extension.
What’s included: a teacher PowerPoint with answers revealed on click and full speaker notes (timings, what to look for, what each wrong answer means); a pupil PowerPoint with the answers removed; a printable worksheet; a full answer document; and optional independent-study practice with answers. Everything is editable, set in Century Gothic, and every calculation is worked one step to a line.
Specification: AQA A Level Chemistry 7405, 3.1.10 Equilibrium constant Kp for homogeneous systems (A level only). Built for 55-minute lessons; adaptable to other boards that teach Kp.
