Help your students manage the jump from GCSE to A-Level Physics calculations with this ready-to-use transition/induction worksheet, designed to consolidate and develop the calculation skills required for AS-Level and beyond.

This set of questions uses only GCSE equations, but sets the demand more in line with the start of KS5. Students will need to choose the equation themselves, convert units and rearrange before substituting, and give answers in standard form to an appropriate number of significant figures. Many of the questions require the chaining of two steps.

These skills are fully modelled with 3 worked examples, then consolidated through 4 2-mark calculations and 8 3-mark calculations. A mark scheme and full solutions are included, with mark allocations based on past AQA AS Physics papers, so the difficulty and marking are calibrated appropriately and in the correct style.
