This 4-sheet Active and Passive Voice resource provides structured and progressive practice to help pupils understand, identify, and use active and passive sentence constructions — a key KS2 grammar objective and a common SATs test focus.

The resource is carefully organised into three clear sections on each sheet, guiding pupils from recognition to application.

How each worksheet is structured

Part 1 – Identify the Voice
Pupils read sentences and decide whether each is active or passive, writing A or P at the end.
Examples from the resource include:
“The king built the castle.”
“The books were marked by the teacher every afternoon.”
“The pizza was delivered to our house in ten minutes.”

Part 2 – Change the Voice
Pupils convert:
active sentences into passive
passive sentences into active
Examples include:
“The treasure was found by explorers.”
“The mechanic fixes the car quickly.”
“The children painted bright pictures.”

Part 3 – Create Your Own
Pupils write:
one active sentence
one passive sentence
This section encourages independent application, reinforcing full understanding.
