Addition L07 Four in a Row | Multi Digit is a printable addition game from a structured 26-level progression, designed to build fluency and confidence.

This resource gives pupils focused addition practice through a simple Four in a Row game format. Pupils answer addition questions and try to connect four correct answers, making the practice more engaging than a standard worksheet while still keeping the mathematical focus clear.

This is one individual level from a wider 26-level Addition progression. The full pathway moves from early addition fluency through to decimals, directed numbers, fractions, algebraic addition, standard form and surd-style addition.

The rationale behind the progression is that pupils make better progress when practice is targeted, sequenced and achievable. Each level focuses on a specific stage of addition, so teachers can choose the right level for the pupil rather than giving a random mixed worksheet that may be too easy in places and too difficult in others.

This individual Four in a Row resource is useful for:

starter activities
intervention
retrieval practice
homework
tutoring
cover lessons
paired work
small-group practice
KS2 to KS3 transition
GCSE foundation fluency support

The game format adds motivation and pace, but the purpose remains serious: pupils are building accuracy, confidence and fluency at a carefully chosen point in the addition progression.

This resource is sold individually as one level from the full 26-level Addition Four in a Row progression.
