This question paper and mark scheme is designed to monitor and assess students knowledge and understanding of the following parts of the AQA specification:
3. 2.2.1 Biomechanical principles
3.2.2.2 Levers
3.2.2.3. Linear Motion

The question paper is out of 55 marks and follows the following structure:
• 1 multiple choice question (analysis of movement linked to planes and axes)
• Interpretation of data from a graph to calculate speed
• Definition of centre of mass and application to sporting examples on how C.O.M determines stability and sports performance / How to minimise stability and application to sports performance
• Identifying factors affecting sports performance
• Application of Newton’s Laws to sports performance
• Calculation of forces
• Definitions and application of distance versus displacement
• Sketching, labelling and analysing lever systems
• Calculating impulse and application to sports performance

  1. 55 mark question paper with challenging grade boundaries calculated
  2. Corresponding detailed mark scheme
  3. Student diagnostic student feedback sheet that they complete after the test with a step by step guide on how to improve their application
