AQA ALevel Cold War Ideological conflict

This is for the AQA ALevel course but can be used for any ALevel course on the Cold War

This is a 2 hour introductory lesson (can be split into two one hour lessons) and includes homework/ independent learning.

-Resources included: Powerpoint with 30 slides outlining expectations and prep for challenge of ALevel: Key texts, recommended read and podcasts for students. Final slide should be printed for annotations by students.

-Key Words/ People revision/ course support document for students.

-Worksheet including source (Hitler on new world order) to introduce students to concept of “value” of a source, definitions of communism and capitalism and highlighting comprehension task. Including a stretch and challenge task

-Key info on aims and attitudes of big 3 in Grand Alliance for students

Homework tasks sheet (where slide refers to a booklet this sheet can be used instead).

Variety of independent and teacher led tasks including ice breaker initial task for students to get to know new classmates and teacher get to know them.
