French AQA 8652 GCSE Oral Exam: Role Play

This 55 page booklet is designed to help prepare for the higher tier of the role play part of the oral exam through structured practice. There are 10 supported role plays. Each Role Play follows a three-stage structure to help candidates prepare and perform confidently:

PLAN: “Write your ideas in the mind map in French before speaking. Focus on key vocabulary, question words, and verbs. Use the key vocab if needed.”

PERFECT: “Check your sentences for verbs, opinions, reasons, and connectives. Make sure each idea is accurate and interesting. Use the Help Box and Success Criteria.”

PERFROM: In pairs, practise saying your answers out loud clearly and confidently using the teacher script.

Once these three stages are completed, model answers with mark scheme are provided for students to identify areas for improvement.

For teachers: there is a teacher script with timings on how to conduct the whole oral exam

For students: there is a ‘Three Time Frames Made Easy’ cheat sheet and also a ‘Tenses Verb Table’ cheat sheet.
