This lesson explores how and why countries develop at different rates and the main factors that influence their progress. Pupils examine global patterns of development using maps, interpret data such as the Human Development Index (HDI) and access to clean water, and compare living conditions in high-, middle-, and low-income countries. They then identify and evaluate barriers to development—social, economic, environmental, and political—considering how these challenges interact to limit growth and opportunity around the world.
I will be selling this worksheet alongside several others as a bundle, which is targeted towards individual year groups. More resources, less cost.
