Everything you need to teach AQA GCSE Geography Paper 1, Living with the Physical Environment, in one bundle: 49 one-hour lessons, three 12-week homework booklets and three spaced retrieval packs. Each topic’s three products follow the same content order and use the same case studies, key terms and sourced figures, so what you teach in a lesson comes back in homework and in your starters, with spacing built in.

What is in the bundle

  • 49 one-hour lessons as editable PowerPoints, with printable resource sheets, teacher notes with answers and mark schemes, a START-HERE guide for each topic, and a printed assessment for each topic (Section A: 30 marks plus 3 SPaG; Section B: 25 marks; Section C: 30 marks). Natural Hazards and Coasts and Rivers follow the Oak National Academy lesson model: a five-question starter quiz, an outcome and big question, key words, three learning cycles (explanation, a check for understanding with a reveal, and a practice task with a feedback slide and a Challenge), a video slide with QR code and watch-for questions, an original exam-style question with a student-friendly mark scheme and example answer, and a five-question exit quiz. The Living World lessons are in a shorter format: a Do Now with answers, “Learn it” teaching slides built around original diagrams, varied tasks each with a stretch, a video slide, an original exam question with mark scheme and model answer, and an exit ticket. Each topic ends with an exam-technique lesson and a review lesson.
  • Three 12-week homework booklets. About 45 minutes a week in five short chunks: word work with retrieval from earlier weeks, a short reading, check questions, a “think deeper” task and original exam practice, with the scaffolding withdrawn across the term. Full answers, support pages, student trackers and a teacher section.
  • Three spaced retrieval packs: weekly “do now” starters and long-gap boosters, with a mark scheme for every question.

Specification: AQA GCSE Geography 8035, Paper 1, sections 3.1.1 (Natural hazards), 3.1.2 (The living world) and 3.1.3 (Physical landscapes in the UK: coastal and river landscapes).

Support and accessibility: the homework booklets and retrieval packs include Tier 3 vocabulary lists, sentence starters and gap-fills, set in Verdana with 1.5 line spacing and bold rather than italics.

Please note:

  • Not included: the cold environments option (Section B), glacial landscapes (Section C), Papers 2 and 3. The Living World covers the hot deserts option only; Physical Landscapes covers coasts and rivers only.
  • The lessons link to YouTube videos (and a few other sites), so you need internet access and a school network that allows them. Please preview each clip before teaching.
  • The slides contain original maps, charts and diagrams but no photographs and no OS map extracts.
  • Exam-style questions are original and are not taken from AQA papers. This bundle is not endorsed by AQA.
  • The Physical Landscapes retrieval pack interleaves some Urban Issues questions (Paper 2 content) on purpose, for spacing.
