Some disorders are inherited. These disorders are caused by the inheritance of certain alleles. • Polydactyly (having extra fingers or toes) is caused by a dominant allele. • Cystic fibrosis (a disorder of cell membranes) is caused by a recessive allele. Students should make informed judgements about the economic, social and ethical issues concerning embryo screening, given appropriate information.
WS 1.3 Appreciate that embryo screening and gene therapy may alleviate suffering but consider the ethical issues which arise.

This is a fantastic resource - it has challenge/stretch in addition to plenty of engagement (videos) and debate. Although only one worksheet is included I do feel this resource is easy to differentiate - as I have down for a less able class. Quite a lot of resources on here often require time consuming tweaking but this one is really adaptable! Love it!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I’m glad that you were able to easily adapt the lesson for your students. Regards Paperfriendlyresources
Fully comprehensive resources that saved me a lot of time!!

I bought this as part of a bundle and has really saved me lots of time in this season of mock marking and report writing. Thanks, great resource!
This is a really good idea for a lesson. T videos are good but do not work properly unless you unzip it by dragging into your download folder. Chorionic villus sampling is not mentioned in the ppt though so you will need to add a slide in regarding this.
Hi, Thank you for your honest review. In response to your feedback i have uploaded an edited version of the lesson. It includes chorionic villus sampling and an activity for students to compare both CVS and Amniocentesis. A worksheet has also been included for students who take forever drawing tables :) If it's not too much trouble could you please check that you are able to access this edited version. <br /> Thank you again.
