This lesson was created using the latest AQA A-Level Psychology specification (2025) although content and activities may be useful for other specifications.

This lesson was created to introduce the topic of attachment. It covers:

  • Care-giver-infant interactions
  • Stages of attachment

Although these topic areas are no longer assessed in the new specification, completing this lesson (one hour) gives an overview of key concepts that give students a baseline in which to develop their understanding in the comming lessons.

This includes a PowerPoint and accompyoning workpack, for students to easily access the content. Please see the notes section for teacher elaboration.

I’d also reccomend the Netflix series ‘Babies’, which shows a number of intresting topics that relate to the Attachment unit.
