This resource is designed to introduce students to Sociology at GCSE. This is lesson 2 of a series of introductory lesson to help students to identify how to think like a sociologist. It contains a video link to allow students to think about gender stereotypes and how these can affect the make-up of a society. There is also reference to race and ethnicity and there are differentiated tasks that are colour coded to help with concepts. The dice plenary was found and adapted from another site, but I have included it in this resource as I make reference to it in the plenary. I have these stuck to desks and use them regularly. These are also differentiated by colour.
Please note that these are introductory lessons; further into the course, students will need the understanding of these lessons when studying other units and topics in more detail.
