**A series of 4 complete lessons preparing students for both the AQA GCSE Unseen poetry questions. **

The lessons walk students through the 2017 exam paper questions (‘Autumn’ by Alan Bond and ‘Today’ by Billy Collins).

Lesson One introduces the students to the concept of the unseen question and its place in the specification. It then walks through the students how to approach the question, and enables students to write a detailed plan to answer the first question.

Lesson Two recaps the skills covered in Lesson One and gives students a structure with which to write an answer.

Lesson Three takes the students through the mark scheme of this question and applies this to their self-assessment answer. Then it introduces the students to the next question and explains how the mark scheme differs for the second question. Students then begin a plan focusing on meeting AO2 (as per the mark scheme).

Lesson Four recaps the plan and discourse markers to enable students to write their response. Students then use the mark scheme to self assess their answer.
