These two sets of resource are for all KS4 students and teaches students to tackle problems involving measuring an area, calculating the number of items such as tins or bags required and the cost of purchasing these items.

The older resource was designed to prepare students for the Edexcel GCSE lessons asking them to evaluate resources or money required. As the questions asked in GCSE papers have changed to stating the resources and money that a person has and asking whether they are enough.

Both sets of resources consist of a lesson presentation and a worksheet. The lessons are structured so that students start with easier two-stage problems involving finding area and then cost, before tackling the harder three-stage questions. Fully worked out solutions are given throughout.
