8-12 hrs art project that provides a gentle return to school which checks in on students wellbeing in a subtle way whilst teaching them core art skills.
Students make their own sketchbooks and work through a selection of skills which all relate to maps and cartography.
These skills are applied in the final piece which is the making of the book cover. This leaves students with a finished item that they can take home/can be displayed easily.

Uses minimal equipment (so less cleaning between uses!) but still provides new and creative tasks for students that are hands on.

Just what I needed! I have been trying to think of a cross curriculum project to do with our Geography teacher and have struggled to fine-tune it. This project is the perfect thing for it; love that it uses basic equipment as it's nice and accessible for all, while leaving them with a finished product. Thank you for sharing!
