A comprehensive, 3-hour CPD course covering attachment theory and its practical application in the classroom. Across 6 modules, you’ll learn to recognise the four attachment styles and how they present in pupils, reframe behaviours often mistaken for defiance or laziness, and apply the PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) in daily practice.

The course covers adapting transitions and routines, responding to dysregulation through co-regulation before correction, avoiding shame-based discipline, and building whole-school consistency including key adult systems and staff wellbeing. A full reflection worksheet is included.

Written by a qualified teacher (Cert Ed) with over 10 years’ experience across further education, SEND provision and pastoral care.

Ideal for: whole-staff INSET training, SENCO-led CPD, pastoral team development, or individual professional development hours. Pairs well with our Trauma-Informed Practice course.
