Babiling Kit: Stop Motion (KS2–KS3)

Stop-motion animation project for ages 8–12: from papercraft to a first short film. A structured, hands-on resource introducing pupils to animation through a clear progression: story → storyboard → step-by-step guide → backgrounds → characters.

Created by professional animators and illustrators, the Babiling Animation Kit supports storytelling, focus, visual understanding and creative expression. Each pupil produces a unique result.

The activity can be delivered within approximately 1–2 hours and requires only basic materials and a smartphone or tablet for filming. It supports both individual and group work.

Learning outcomes include:
• developing storytelling and narrative structure
• improving focus and sustained attention
• understanding basic visual techniques and illusion in animation

Content is based on myths, fairy tales and literary narratives, with an additional open-ended theme to consolidate skills through independent creativity.
