This worksheet task allows students to develop their understanding of algebraic equations.
Students will act as ‘Trainee Tim’s’ line manager and review his work - 8 equations that he supposedly balanced correctly. Using their reasoning skills and understanding of how to balance equations, students will assess whether the equations are correctly balanced and decide whether Tim passes his probation!
This activity also comes with an additional challenge to provoke higher order reasoning and develop mathematical thinking.
