Big and Small Sorting Cards is an EYFS and KS1 resource designed to support early maths and language development through visual comparison.
The pack includes 4 sets, each available in both colour and black-and-white for colouring, with 12 cards per set: 2 showing big, bigger and too big, and 2 showing small, smaller and too small.
These cards are ideal for hands-on sorting and discussion activities, encouraging children to talk about size, compare objects, and justify their thinking.
Teachers can use them for matching and duplicate games, grouping tasks (e.g. finding all the too big or too small items), or sequencing from smallest to biggest.
Cards with arrows provide extra support for understanding comparative language like bigger and smaller.
They are perfect for use in a maths corner, as part of continuous provision, or for creating engaging classroom displays.
The resource also links to early literacy by reinforcing key vocabulary and speaking skills alongside mathematical concepts such as comparison, ordering, and classification.
Templates are added for children to draw/write in or paste into.
