Lesson 1 - focuses on introducing BODMAS, and the Need for Order, perfect for helping your students understand and articulate why we need an agreed-upon order of operations.
Lesson 2 - Focuses on applying BODMAS, through calculations and real life problems, perfect for helping your students understand and successfully use an order of operations.
Lesson 3 - Takes BODMAS out of the textbook and into a real world engineering challenge! Students will apply the order of operations to solve a complex, multi-stage project: redesigning your school’s emergency warning system and building a custom housing structure for its hardware.
Knowledge and Skills Covered:
Knowledge: Order of operations (BODMAS) and solving multi-step problems.
Skills: Apply BODMAS accurately and justify the order and method used in calculations.
