Remember, Remember: The Story of Bonfire Night
Why do we have bonfires and fireworks on the fifth of November? A calm, story-led KS1 assembly that tells the true story of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 in child-friendly steps — the King, the secret plan, the 36 barrels, the letter and the midnight search — then teaches firework and sparkler safety and kindness to pets and people who find the bangs frightening. Facts are checked against UK Parliament’s own history pages and the safety advice follows RoSPA.
