Bonfire Night Colourful Semantics Story
This engaging Colourful Semantics resource helps children develop their understanding of sentence structure and comprehension while learning about the story of Bonfire Night. Through colourful, child-friendly illustrations and carefully structured sentences, pupils can read the story independently or complete missing parts using Colourful Semantics prompts.
The resource follows the key events of the Gunpowder Plot, from the secret plan and the warning letter to the discovery of Guy Fawkes and the modern-day Bonfire Night celebrations held on 5th November. Children are encouraged to identify who, what, where and when within each sentence, supporting the development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
Suitable for primary and secondary-aged learners, including those with speech, language and communication needs, this resource can be used as a whole-class activity, guided reading task, intervention resource or independent learning activity.
