An example non-chronological report text about brownies, a type of faerie, plus two activities with answers, and planning and writing templates.

Pupils read the model non-chronological report about brownies, and then examine its features; label the layout features of a non-chronological report on the sheet provided; and plan and write their own non-chronological report using the templates provided. Pupils can research and create the information text about a brownie or a different mythical creature such as a goblin, boggart, dwarf, griffin, kelpie, unicorn or troll. These activities can be carried out over several lessons.
