This is a written lesson designed for Drama but can be used within English too.
The students explore relationships at first and the different relationships we can have e.g. parent/child, boss/employee, brother/sister and friends. They will discuss how we act differently around these people and then write how they would act if they were playing one of these roles.
Next students read a story and discuss what is happening in the story - who is the main character? How are they being treated? How do others react to them?
They then discuss the different types of bullying, writing definitions and examples for each.
Students then talk about thought tracking and explore the thoughts the characters have in the story and how they would act as these characters.
Finally they have a reflect and direct task which is completed through peer assessment and making the improvements to their work.
Although geared to be a written lesson this lesson can easily be adapted to contain both practical and written elements.
Based on the detail and time spent on each task and based on whether practical or written based this lesson can be used over one lesson or a series of lessons.
