Calculating Magnification

A differentiated worksheet where pupils calculate the magnification of a microscope:
Bronze = eyepiece lens x objective lens
Silver = converting between quantitative units (millimeters, micrometers, nanometers, picometers)
Gold = using image = actual x magnification
Differentiation built within each task (Bronze, Silver and Gold) to really challenge pupils.

I printed this sheet off and cut into task strips, with pupils target grades/working at grades determining the task they do. I have also known teachers to get pupils to self select the task based on retrieval practice score or a starter activity.
