Card Sort: Armada Chronology Exercise
The great little resources is designed for core and foundation students. It includes 12 key events which were key events in the unsuccessful attempted by the Spanish Armada to invade England in 1588. Students are expected to sort the cards into their correct chronology order and then discuss whether it was luck or successful tactics that helped the English defeat the Spanish Armada?

This makes an excellent starter or plenary and should not take more than 8 minutes to cut out and sort. For lower ability classes it might be an idea to have a class set cut out and kept in individual envelopes.
